You Inspire Me

Hey peeps.  Happy FRIDAY!!  Yup, it's another weekend and it's time to play.  I finally took the dive and jumped in on the madness about Faber-Castell Gelato colors.  I must say that these pigment sticks are amazing.  They go on super easy and the color they produce is out of this world.  I made this card for my wonderfully, fabulous sister-in-law.  I hate using the word in-law because I love her just like my own sisters.  She is such an amazing woman and inspires me everyday to keep moving forward.  I love her to pieces.

If you have never used gelato you must give it a try.  I don't know why in the world I waited so long.  Plus if you can get your hands on a Hobby Lobby or Michael's coupon, you can score a four pack that includes a stamp and brush for 40-50% off.   I used my Impression Obsession Cover A Card background stamp and heat embossed with the clear powder. Then all I did was blend several colors of gelato to get this effect.  See how easy and beautiful your card can be?  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Thanks for swinging by today.  I hope you have a great start to your weekend.

Hugs and love

Hello Awesome

Hey peeps.  Did everyone make it through Monday okay?  I swear that is always the slowest day.  Anyway, I'm back with a quick card.  I just had to purchase this amazing sentiment set from My Favorite Things called Simply Fabulous Sayings as soon as it was released.  WOW...this set is fabulous for creating cards without a lot of fuss.  Endless possibilities with just one set.  AMAZING!!

Since I had the set of course I had to break it in.  The sentiment I used on yesterday's card was from this set also.  I decided since I was making a card I would make one for the MFT Color Palette and Sweet Sunday Sketch challenges.  That's right peeps, one card for two challenges.  LOL, I'm CRAZY like that!

Here is a closeup of the sentiment.  I used some glitter I purchased during the holidays from Michales and it works well with the color palette.  And who doesn't love glitter!?!  I mean, I think my insides are made from that stuff. ;-)

Well, I'm off to try and get more sleep.  It seems like it doesn't come easy these days.  Better get that checked out.

Pretty In Pink

Hey peeps.  Happy Monday.  Well, it's almost over but still Happy MONDAY!  LOL  I'm back with a quick card.  I have been super busy lately so I haven't been in my stamp room too much.  And this week, will sadly be the same.  I hate not being able to get a card out for some inspiration.  But my life could be worse, so I will NOT complain.

Anyway, I decided to join in one more time over at Some Odd Girl for their current challenge.  I used my Tim Holtz stencil to mask off a background for this lovely image I picked up from SOG a few weeks ago.  Isn't she gorgeous?  This image is called Gaze.  Oh, she's sooo lovely.  She was colored up with my Copic markers.  But for her top, I used a blending stump and my Spun Sugar Distressed Ink.  LOVE that stuff.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. The layout for my card is from the current challenge over at Sketch N Stash.  I used my Perfect Layering tool to mat my project.  The best tool ever!!

Glad you had the chance to swing by today.  Oh before I forget, DON'T FORGET the current challenges that's going on over at Party Time Tuesday. I want to see your inspirations.  Hope to see your lovely faces back here soon.

Hugs and love~

Thank You Prayer Angels

Happy Friday peeps.  This has been one crazy week for me.  Today I'm officially retiring from civil service with the United States Air Force.  I haven't slept a wink due to the excitement and sadness of the end of my journey.  But God has given me a new journey and I willingly accept it.

I took some time out to make a few cards for some special ladies in my life.  I call them my "prayer angels".  Even when I am at my lowest and can't seem to pray for myself, these fabulous ladies lift me up and keep me going.  I don't know what I would do without them.  So to Tanya, Dianna, Cheryl, Jan and Kim, I LOVE YOU and thank you for being a part of my life.  Of course any card that goes out with butterflies and flowers I must add a little sparkle.  I clear embossed the flowers and butterflies from the Second Nature set from Autumn Leaves on white cardstock and used several different SU ink pads to create my colored background.  I die cut my thanks sentiment from Simon Says Stamps and my butterfly from Cheery Lynn.  I used my Wink of Stella clear pen to add some sparkle to the sentiment, butterflies and background.  This card was rather quick to put together but in my opinion just as beautiful as the ladies I'm giving them too.

Well, peeps I have to run.  Ceremony is in a few hours.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a fabulous start to your weekend.

Glittered Thanks

Hey peeps.  Well I couldn't sleep last night so at 1:00 am I decided to wonder down to my stamp room and make a card.  I hadn't had a chance to make one all weekend so I thought, what the hell.  So this is what I came up with.  After being so inspired by Jennifer McGuire's card seen here, I just had to give it a try.

Well, ladies and gentlemen what do you think?  Of course I'm in LOVE with all the sparkle of this card.  I even had some glittered gems that matched perfectly.  Now, my husband on the other hand might not be.  He will be waking up with at least a few hundred pieces of glitter on him by morning.  I'm sure that will be the talk of his physical therapy appointment today.  To try this technique yourself take a peek at Jennifer's video.  I think once you see how easy it is to make such a striking card, yup you will be glittered from head to toe.

Thanks for stopping by today.  And don't forget to sparkle where ever you end up.

Happy Valentie's Day

Hey peeps.  HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!  I know this is the day for "love" but just remember any day can be Valentine's Day.  Don't just leave it to one day a year.  And if you don't have a Valentine today, hell be your own Valentine.  This way you get exactly what you want.  Just saying peeps, just saying!  LOL

I wanted to showcase to you one of my favorite V-day cards.  I made this one last year and I'm still in love with it.  Might have to crank some of these out to show someone I love them.  Say in June or July.  LOL So go forth today and share the love.

Love U - Plain and Simple

Hey peeps.  Well I'm coming to the end of my Valentine's Day cards.  This one was done in under five minutes.  I think I might just mass produce this for next year.  The image and dies are from My Favorite Things.  The paper is out of my 12 x 12 paper stack but I don't recall the company.  I do know I purchased it from Hobby Lobby.

See today's post was quick and simple.  Don't forget to head on over to Party Time Tuesdays for the cross promotion challenge.  You don't want to miss out on all the fun.

Drinks Anyone?

Hey peeps.  Is it thirsty Thursday yet?  I'm already in need of a drink and it's only Monday.  I had to have a tooth pulled this morning and boy am I feeling that pain now. But nothing really can compare to the pain I was having before it was pulled.  When you have a tooth ache, I swear you just can't think straight.

Anyway, enough about my tooth drama.  I'm excited to say that I'm trying out for the Some Odd Girl design team.  Yup, thought I would try my luck and see what happens.  I really enjoy coloring images from SOG and have been a fan for awhile now.  This image of course is from SOG and it's called Cheers Kaylee.  Yup, you see that fruity drink of hers?  Need one right now!  I colored her with Copic markers and die cut a circle around her.  I didn't like the stark white so I used some SU ink and sponged around her.  The paper is from an old SU pack called Summer Flamingo. I participated in the SOG challenge too by misting the tag with my Heidi Swaps stencil and color shine.  I also misted the background paper as well.

I'm also going to join in on the fun over at Sweet Sunday Sketch and 613 Avenue Create challenges. I'm off to take some more meds for the aching that is going on and probably search for some new card inspiration online.  Wish me luck everyone.

Hugs and love~

I'm With Genius!

Whew, hey peeps.  FINALLY had a chance to get in my stamp room and crank out a card.  Wanted to join in on the fun over at Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper challenge.  So glad I did.  The featured stamper for today was Kathleen Curry.  Man, her gallery is FULL of amazing cards.  Super talented lady.

I had this little guy from Tiddly Inks in my colored image bin so this card was made in under 10 minutes.  I used my Perfect Layers tool so the matting was quick and super easy. This is the best tool in my stamp room thus far.  Makes my life soooo much easier.

Well thanks for stopping by today.  I'm having my tooth pulled tomorrow so I better go eat some ice cream, something full of chocolate or gummy bears before I end it for the night.  And that's why I'm getting my tooth pulled.  Can't stay way from the damn sweets.  :-)

Wood You Be Mine

Hey peeps.  Back with a quick card.  I still have not gotten out of the Valentine's Day spirit yet.  I need help!!! LOL  Anyway, the card I have for today will be entered into a few challenges.  I have to say I love the colors of this card.  I used the MFT Graduated Heart stencil as my background paper.  It worked great with the Memento Luxe Rose Bud and Distressed Spun Sugar Inks.  I have to tell you, I'm in LOVE with the Memento Luxe inks.  They are GORGEOUS!!!  The heart and sentiment are from MFT Wood You Be Mine set.  I then used the MFT Designer Label 3 Stax to diecut my sentiment.  Can you believe I didn't used my Copic markers?!?!?  Oh they are sitting on my desk so jealous right now. ;-)

Here's the challenges I'm entering:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Cute Card Thursday
Papertake Weekly
Sister Act
Addicted to CAS

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope it's warm where you are.  It's a beautiful day here in Georgia!

Super Bowl Sunday Birthday

Hey peeps.  I don't have a card for you today.  I have been a very busy lady the past two days.  I went to the Heirloom Stamp Convention yesterday and I had a blast.  Not as many vendors as some of the conventions I have attended in the past. But never the less, I still purchased some AMAZING new tools and goodies to keep me busy for a long time.  I plan on doing some videos on the new products soon.

So today is my hubby's birthday.  Happy birthday to the man of my dreams.  I love when his birthday falls on Super Bowl Sunday. It's an even bigger party plus there is C-A-K-E.  So much protein and not a lick of carbs. That's what I keep telling my hips anyway.  I'm off to watch him tinker around with his car like I used to do when we were dating. WOW...that was a million years and calories ago. ;-)

Before I depart for the day, the winner of my blog candy is:

Brenda please contact me at mzdjoy@yahoo.com so I can get your package in the mail.  Now off to grab a quick bite to eat, watch the hubster for awhile and then GAME TIME!!
