Cool2Cast Blog Hop - E-book Review

Hey peeps.  Do I have some exciting news.  I had the pleasure and opportunity to do an e-book review for the new book by Tiffany Windsor called Cool2Cast Tips, Techniques and Ideas for Jewelry, Home Decor and Embellishments!  This book has a wealth of information for all of us crafters.  But before I get started with the review let me give you a little bit of background about Tiffany.

Tiffany is best known in the creative community as the founder of the Cool2Craft community featuring the popular on-line Cool2Craft YouTube video channel. She developed a love for inspiring the creative community when she was the producer/host of Aleene’s Creative Living Television show and editor of Aleene’s Creative Living Magazine. Tiffany has made regular appearances on QVC and HSN and has authored over 20 hard-cover and soft-cover books.

With all this knowledge that Tiffany has to share I have to say this book was a-mazing!  One of the things I noticed right off the back is all the glorious photos of example projects you can make with Cool2Cast products. For me it's all about visual references.  I need to be able to see the artwork and not just read about it.

Next this book has so many step by step instructions that easily helps walk you through the process of using Cool2Cast products for all your crafting needs.  From making jewelry pieces to home decor.  You will never have to guess "I'm I doing that right?"  There are instructions for using Cool2Cast with traditional molds, unusual molds and molds using your regular household items.  On top of all that, there is a section on ways to color your casting medium.  Now that is COOL!!  So this e-book get a HUGE TWO THUMBS UP from me.

I also want to mention that Bella Crafts Quarterly Fall 2014 magazine is now available! Bella Crafts Quarterly is the #1 craft magazine that is always FREE for readers to view online or download.  Make sure to click here for your free copy today.

Floral Thank You

Hey peeps.  I've been in my stamp room making some sample cards for a friend.  I normally do not take orders because I get overwhelmed with making the same card over and over again.  I think it kills my creativity.  LOL  But she is such a sweetheart I just couldn't say no.

I used the large Impressions Obessions Lotus Flower stamp with Hero Arts Bubblegum ink to make my background on some pink card stock.  I then matted it using my Perfect Layers rulers.  LOVE those amazing rulers.  I then stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Many Thanks set and used the Fishtail die from My Favorite Things.  Layered it all on a white panel and a white card base.  And what's a card without a touch a bling?  So I added a pink sequin to the sentiment panel.

That wraps up my card for today.  I'm going to enter it into the My Craft Creations, The Pink ElephantThe Outlaws (Monday) challenges.  I'll see ya soon everyone.  Go forth and be crafty!

Hugs and love~

BOO-TI-FUL Sparkle

Hey peeps.  Back squeezing in one more Halloween card.  I don't like the scary cards so I tend to go more on the "happy side" of Halloween.  LOL  I just couldn't let this year pass without me using this adorable stamp from Newton's Nook Design and the cutest ever die cut from My Favorite Things.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Design Team Announcement

Hey, hey, hey peeps!  Boy do I have some exciting news.  I'm one of the newest members to the Really Reasonable Ribbon design team.  Holy cow shut the front door!!!  I am sooo exciting to be amongst these great women.  Check out the announcement post here

I'm a HUGE fan of Bonnie and all her gorgeous ribbon.  Yes, I'm a fan of each and every roll of ribbon she carries.  LOL  Once you get your hands on her ribbon it's over.  Your wallet will up and leave you and head straight to the RRR store.  I had been a subscriber to the monthly ribbon club and would scream in delight each month when I received my new kit in the mail.

I just made this card for my Mom who's recovering from surgery with the yummy bright confetti dots grosgrain ribbon.  Since this ribbon has sooo many gorgeous colors it was easy to match it up to my Bazzill paper.  If you are not using Really Reasonable Ribbon what in the world are you waiting for?  You are missing out peeps. :-)

I can't wait to share with you all the new cards and such I'll be making with Bonnie's ribbon.  I'm over the moon with happiness that I have the chance to work with Bonnie and her great design team.  This is going to be a blast!!  Hang on for the ride it's going to be wild!

Creative Blog Hop

Hey peeps!!  I hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend.  I was busy making cards and spending money.  Oh the life of a crafter.  This hobby is fabulous isn't it?

I was picked by the fabulous Tenia Nelson to participate in the Creative Blog Hop.  What an honor Tenia.  You are such a sweetheart. WERD!!! ;-)  Check out what Tenia said on her blog when she was selected.  The blog hop runs every Monday and I'm LATE!  Ugh...I totally spaced out on posting.  Shame Dana Shame.  LOL This blog hop was created so all of us can get to know each other better.  And what's better than finding a new friend in this crafting community?  SOOO..let's get started.

1.  What am I working on right now?
I guess the answer should be what am I not working on.  LOL  I'm making cards for magazine submissions, working on design team assignments and trying to plan my husbands retirement.  Whew, I'm a little bit busy for sure.

2.  How does my work differ from others in my genre?
Well, I'm a mixture of everything.  I LOVE anything that sparkles but I also love a clean and simple card.  I like to stretch my limits and I will try just about anything.  But I won't just make a card just to say I made one.  I need to really enjoy the process.  I don't like to rush as I feel that I'm limiting the creative process.  Not to say I haven't made some WOW cards at crunch time.  LOL

3.  Why do I create what I do?
Cardmaking is a passion for me.  I have been doing it for over 14 years and I never get bored.  I love seeing all the new things coming to the crafting market.  It gets my creative juices flowing and my wallet running to Paypal.  It's taken me through good times and bad.  It's just part of me.

4.  How does my creative process work?
Majority of the time I look through my stamps and decide from there where my card will lead me.  If I'm using my Copic markers I start with the image and match paper to it prior to me coloring it.  I don't like matching my paper after the fact because my colors could be off.  If my mojo has left me, off to Pinterest, YouTube and my favorite blogs I go for inspiration.

Now it's time to select some new bloggers to introduce you to.  First I want to pick my dear friend Jenn Cochran.  This chick has some amazing talent and is a life saver for all things craft related.  LOL  Her blog is called Jax Bean Stalks.  Run don't walk over the her amazing blog.

Hi it's Jenn.  I'm the owner and operator of Party Times Tuesdays Challenge blog and the author of Jax Bean Stalks blog.  Jax Bean Stalks specializes in custom greeting cards, announcements, and Invitations. My finished product is made with high quality card stock, designer papers and inks.

Next I would like to introduce you to Gracielle.  I have the pleasure of being on a new design team with Graciellie and I feel like we are going to be crafting friends forever.  Her work is amazing and her sense of humor is hilarious!!  Check out her brilliant flare over at Graciellie Design.

Hello! I'm Graciela but I am mostly known as Graciellie on the online papercrafting community. I am an avid crafter and blogger and a bit of a graphic designer! I discovered papercrafting through cardmaking around 2010 and little by little it became my passion. My blog has allowed me to connect with other artists and it has given me so many opportunities that I'm thankful for.

And to wrap things up I want to introduce you to Larissa Collins Pittman.  She is an avid card making and a wiz when it comes to Copic markers.  She's currently the design team coordinator for Ann Butler Designs and one heck of a crafter.  If you've never been over to her blog Muffins and Lace you have got to check it out.

Hi my name is Larissa Pittman and I live in a small town in the Texas Hill Country.  I have been creating most of my life. I love working with every kind of medium.  I have been making cards for about 10 years and recently started playing with mixed media. I tend to work more with bright colors and lots of bling.

Wow...great intros right?  They will the sharing their questions and answers next MONDAY so make sure to swing by their blogs to get to know them better.

Hugs and love~

Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes

Hey peeps.  It's time for another par-tay!!  Get all your stamping supplies and get busy.  There's an Anything Goes Challenge over at Party Time Tuesdays.  We had come fabulous entries last week.  YOU guys showed out.  LOL  So many fantastic cards, pillow boxes, tags.  I was blown away.  We have some super talented people out there.

I used a beautiful image from Crafter's Companion called Bloomin' Beautiful.  I watercolored my flowers and did a light blue water wash behind them.  I decided to cut my panel on a slant and add it to a basic card front.  I then used a happy birthday sentiment on my card.

I hope you join in on the fun over at Party Time Tuesdays.  We love seeing all your gorgeous week.
Gotta run, I have some stamping to do.

Hugs and love~
