2017 Holiday Card Series - Day 6 Make A Splash With Color

Hey everyone.  Today wraps up the 2017 Holiday Card Series.  I really hope you have enjoyed the tutorials this year.  I thought today we would end the series off with a splash of color and a bit of gold.  Even though the series is over, I'm far from done with my holiday cards. At this time of year, I just can't seem to stop making pretty holiday cards.  I don't send out many since we do New Year photo cards however I love this time of year and making holiday cards just comes naturally for me.

For the last card I pulled out some Brusho and a beautiful background stamp from Simon Says Stamp called Kaleidoscope.  This pair works fabulously together.  For the sentiment I used a sentiment from the Stained Glass Greetings also from Simon Says Stamp.

You can watch the tutorial here on my blog or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I've listed all the products below for your shopping convenience. I have used affiliate links however there is no cost to you.

Have a great day everyone.  See ya back here soon!!!

Concord and 9th Magnolia Wreath Tutorial

Hey peeps.  I'm back with a tutorial using another stamp set from Concord & 9th.  I'm so loving the Magnolia Wreath stamp set.  When I saw it I knew I needed to watercolor it.  This time I used brusho instead of ink. You can use brusho, Colorburst and other pigment powders on your stamps but it will stain your stamps.  However it will not ruin the way you use them later.    Here is the card I made.

Look at the gorgeous color you can achieve using brusho instead of ink!!  Oh I LOVE this technique!!

Keeping the card clean and simple really makes the gold and the sentiment stand out.

You can watch the video here or on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I've linked product below for your shopping convenience. They are affiliate links at no cost to you.

Have a great day everyone.  See ya back here soon!

Altenew Geometric Flower Card

Hey peeps.  Happy Monday.  You all know me, I like to think outside of the box.  When I purchased the Altenew Geometric Flower stamp set I already knew I wanted to use it to make my Christmas cards.  We don't always have to reach for those holiday stamps to create something beautiful this time of year.  So grab those summer stamp sets and use them in the winter months.  I promise the stamp police will no be showing up on your door step.

Here is the card I made using the Geometric Flower stamp set, white embossing powder and some scarlet and green Brusho.  This card was very easy to put together.  I first stamped out the flowers leaving my bottom area free.  I sprinkled on some white embossing powder and heat seat my flowers.  Next, I placed a piece of paper down to cover the lower portion of my card and sprinkled on some red and green Brusho.  I spritzed on just a bit of water to get my colors to move across my paper.  This technique is so easy and fun.  You totally get a different effect each time you do it.

To finish up my card I stamped my Big Scripty Greetings Holiday sentiment from Simon Says Stamp with Memento Luxe Love Letter ink and heat set it with clear embossing powder.  I added just a few sequin to finish off my card panel.  Instead of placing my panel on a white card base, I used one of my new favorite neutral colors Fog from Simon Says Stamp.

That wraps up my card for today.  I'll see you guys back here soon!
