Season Giving Blog Hop and a Tutorial

Happy 2018 peeps!! I'm excited to be participating again in the Seasons Giving blog hop.  Can you believe it's been six years already since the lovey Latisha started this blog hop?  I honored to be able to participate again this year.  But I have to say WOW 😮 where did 2017 go? Looking back it's been a rollercoaster of a ride.  I've had some super exciting thrills of highs and some deeply worrisome lows however they were all worth the ride in order to grow and live.  Living and learning is an experience that never gets old because it beats the alternative (death and misunderstanding). ☺️ I've learned that letting go of negativity takes time and enjoying silence can be scary.  I've also learned to stop looking for the "right" version of me and to love me just the way I am.  That can be difficult and enlightening all at the same time.  And lastly... being KIND and true to yourself always wins.
I'm ending 2017 sipping champagne and bringing in the New Year with the love of my life.  The man I loved ever since third grade. I managed to get in one last card and video before I said goodbye to 2017. I hope you enjoy it.

You can watch it here or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy. I've linked all the supplies used for your convenience.  Affiliate links were used at no cost to you.

Going into 2018 I'm doing what I always do, I'm going to embrace the possibilities, eat my traditional New Years meal of good luck and wealth (black eye peas and collard greens) and continue to be KIND no matter what life throws at me.  So let's start off this blog hop with a little giveaway.  I have one set of the Lawn Fawn How You Bean Conversation Heart Add On stamp set with matching die and one set of the Rawr stamp set and die to give away to one lucky winner.  Please leave a comment below telling me what positive thoughts you will be bringing into 2018.  You can also follow my Youtube and Instagram accounts for an extra entry.  Giveaway closes on FRIDAY JANUARY 5 at 11:59 PM EST. (US residents only.) Winner will be announced Jan 8th. Good luck everyone.

Here is the listing of all the fabulous companies and individuals that are participating in the hop this year.  Have a great time hopping around on the Seasons Givings Blog Hop this year.

When Your Die Cuts Do All The Work

Hey peeps.  Happy Friday!!  Is there REALLY only 10 days left until Christmas?  Geez I'm not done shopping yet.  However, I am nearing the end of my cardmaking which for me means SUCCESS!!!

I'm finishing up my family cards and letting my die cuts do all the work for me. Not only does it help me not have to overthink the layout of my card, it makes them come together and look fabulous!!  Also keeping the paper and sentiments simple really helps. I'm using two Christmas die cuts from Elizabeth Craft Designs today.  For my first card I used the Stocking Solid die cut with some Knit Picky paper from Lawn Fawn. I used a few small stitched rectangle dies to add some matching color and interest to my card.  Instead of just using white as a background color I decided to use fog card stock and ran it through my die cut machine with a small swiss dot embossing folder to give it some texture.  Adding just a few matte enamel dots to this cute card and voila it was complete.

For my ribbon tree I loved using a mix of sparkly, shiny and matte rose gold paper from DCWV.  It really made my card look elegant.  I used tiny strips of foam tape to pop up my little tree in the middle.  I can't tell you how much I LOVE these dies to build trees!!  I kept the card really simple by just adding a stitched hillside of snow and a simple sentiment.  I added just a bit of blue Copic markers to the background so the sky wasn't "white" and some snow with my white uniball gel pen.

Well that's a wrap for the cards today.  I hope you have a fabulous weekend everyone.  I'll see you back here next week!!

Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop + Tutorial

Hey everyone.  Happy Friday.   I'm getting close to making the last of my tutorials for 2017.  I still can't believe we are almost to the end of the year.  The holidays are here and I'm ready to spend some relaxing time with family and friends.

I'm participating in the Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop as well as sharing a quick and simple Christmas card.  I have just a few cards left to give out to neighbors and friends. For my card for the blog hop, I kept it clean and simple and added just a cute coffee cup to my card.

Now you can make a very similar card minus the coffee mug and have ten cards done in a flash.  One the card below there is only one large sentiment on this card and some nuvo drops.  Can you believe I don't even have a sequin on this one? I used the gorgeous Lawn Fawn Knit Picky 6x6 paper pad for my card base and the stitched retangle stax die-namics for the light stitching on my card.

Since this card was so easy to create, I decided to make some in green as well.  Mast production in the house with these!!

You can watch the tutorial here or on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I've used affiliate link for your shopping convenience at no cost to you.

Thanks for hanging out with me.  See ya back here next week.  Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Sipping Coffee and A Small Derailment In Life

Hey everyone.  I hope you are all having a great day.  I have some not so fun news to share.  After a few weeks of not feeling well, and finally finding out why I am preparing for a surgery.  Not looking forward to it but it must be done.  I've had several surgeries in the past and they are NEVER a sprinkled filled day but I'm staying positive that this one can be done as a laparoscopic surgery and I will not be staying in the hospital.

So I'm sipping on my last cup of coffee before surgery tomorrow and enjoying the day.  I shared this card on Periscope and we had a fun time putting the layout together.  The layout is from a challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  The stamp set is from the Simon Says Stamp and The Greeting Farm collaboration from Stampember. (Sadly it's no longer available.)

I think this little girl is too precious with her lattes and hot chocolates.  I had so much fun coloring her up.  The paper is from Lawn Fawn!

Well guys, I will need to take a little bit of a break for blogging to recover HOWEVER, I promise, I will be back to blogging as quickly as possible.  Until then, sip a great cup of coffee, take a giant bite of a chocolate frosted donut with sprinkles and enjoy your day!!  Love you guys!!  See ya soon!

Candy Corn Overload With Lawn Fawn

Hey peeps.  Happy Monday.  I'm on a sugar high with candy corn today.  I keep saying I'm not going to make any more Halloween cards but nope I keep on going.  LOL  Today I'm sharing a card I made with the How You Bean...Candy Corn and some super fun designer paper from Doodlebug Designs October 31st 6x6 paper pad.

Told you my card was candy corn overload.  Look at those cute little candy corn all smiles on my card.  This stamp is just too adorable.  I stamped the image on Neenah solar white card stock and colored it with Copic markers.  I die cut it out and then trimmed it down along the black line.  Next I die cut out the shape again in orange fun foam so my stamped image could be spotlighted on the orange piece.

I kept my layout out really clean and simple for my card and used some candy corn background paper and some black and gray polka dot paper from the October 31st paper pad from Doodlebug Designs.  I added some clear Wink of Stella to my candy corn and some DIY enamel dots.  To see how to make your own enamel dots check out my blog HERE.

That finished up the card for today.  I'll see you buys back here soon.  Have a great Monday everyone.

Lawn Fawn Christmas Like No Otter Tutorial

Hey peeps. Happy Monday.  I'm back today with a quick tutorial.  I'm coloring up a storm this month with Kathy from The Daily Marker.  September is the 30 Day Color Challenge and I'm trying to rock as much coloring as I can squeeze in.

For today's card I did some coloring on some cute little otters from the new Christmas Like No Otter stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  Even though this stamp set is holiday related I used it to make a quick card for my hubby!!

I love how snuggled up and cozy they look.  This is exactly how my husband and I sleep at night.  LOL  I know it's going to just break out in a smile when he opens his card.

You can watch the video here on my blog or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  Feel free to leave me a thumbs up and a comment. I've linked the products below for your shopping convenience. I have used affiliate links but there is no cost to you.

Have a wonderful day everyone and I'll see you back here soon.

Lawn Fawn - Lawn Fawnatics Birthday Card

Hey peeps.  Happy Monday.  I'm joining in on the fun over at Lawn Fawnatics first challenge.  So let's start this week of with a birthday celebration card. Since March is Lawn Fawn's birthday month and mine of course we have to celebrate right?!

For my birthday card I used the Lawn Fawn Baked With Love stamp set.  I colored up a bunch of images to use on several cards.  The first card I posted last week. I was in the mood for cupcakes but didn't want the calories on my hips.  LOL  So I used the remaining images for this card.  Once I get in the coloring, I'm on a roll.

I used my Copic markers to color up these sweet images and of course my favorite Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid paper.  Decided to pull out my Peek-A-Boo Window die from My Favorite Things to make a little window for my mixer to sit behind.  Adding just a few hearts in the background filled in the area nicely.  I keep this card on my desk for a few days pondering if I needed to add anything else to my card.  In the end I pulled out some of my DIY enamel dots to finish off my card.

All this sweetness and not a lick of calories.  Say what?!?  That's a win-win baby!

Have a fabulous Monday everyone.  I'm off to see all the lovely cards that have been made for this birthday challenge. See ya back here soon.

I used Simon Says Stamp's What's Brewing and Altenew's Coffee Talk stamp sets for my card today along with a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop. To finish off my card I add a strip of Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid paper and a few Tonic Studio Nuvo crystal drops.

Here's a quick tutorial on how this card came together.  Grab your cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and  enjoy.  You can watch it here on my blog or on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.
