Distress It With A Sketch

Hey peeps.  I'm participating in the distress it challenge on Simon Says Stamp and the sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things.  I loved both of these challenges this week so why not combine the right?  😉

I used some pretty distress inks and a beautiful stencil from Simon Says Stamp.  I also used the pierced stacked circle and the hello dies from My Favorite Things.

Shine Bright With Concord and 9th

Hey peeps.  I'm back today sharing a card using the Concord and 9th Shine Bright stamp set and die cut.  I'm also participating in their current Sparkle and Shine challenge.  I think this stamp set and die cuts are perfect for this challenge.

I used a panel I made with Nuvo mousse to create a background on Canson watercolor paper.  Once that tried I ran it through my Gemini Jr. with a weave embossing folder from We R Memory Keepers.  Next I die cut out the shine and background from glitter paper and vellum. I adhered those two pieces today with my Tonic Studios adhesive glue.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp set onto brown card stock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  To complete my card I cut down the mousse panel and adhered it to a piece of brown card stock and placed it on a white card base.  I adhered the shine sentiment and the strip sentiment directly onto the top panel and my card was complete.

Pentart Media Ink Comparison

Hey peeps.  Happy Friday.  Today I'm sharing a Pentart media ink comparison.  We all have seen the awesome tutorials using alcohol inks and I'm a huge fan of the ranger inks and Copic refill inks. However I have gotten my hands on some Pentart media inks and I have to say I'm in LOVE.  They work beautifully with Copic colorless blender and alcohol.

I turned my first ink sample into a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge 9th birthday celebration.  I'm a huge fan of Simon Says stamp and I'm so excited for them.  The Pentart media ink colors I used were lemon, turquoise green, magenta and poppy.  The Ranger ink colors were Sunshine Yellow

Christmas Shaker Tags

Happy Monday everyone.  I'm back today sharing some sweet Christmas shaker tags and I'm joining in on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.  Making tags is such an easy and fun way to add a special touch to your holiday gifts.

For my tags I used the Dashing Deer stamp set from MFT and the Tag Builder Blueprints 5 die-namics along with some Birthday Blowout pattern paper.  This shaker tag was a breeze to put together.  Instead of using foam tape I die cut out the shape of the tag six times to build up the thickness of the tag. This keeps the sides of the tag clean.  Since this tags are small I only needed one image inside and just a few sequins.

Adding just a banner sentiment across the top of my tag and my shaker tag was complete.

Winter Challenge Card and Winner Announcement

Hey everyone and Happy Monday.  I'm back today to share a cute winter card as I'm participating in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and the MFT Sketch Challenge.  I decided to make a spinner card since I needed to make an interactive card for a friend of mine to give away to a sweet little girl.

I will tell you, I was CHALLENGED big time with this one.  It's simple process but I have been battled a cold, my mind was in a fog and I could not get my little bear to spin on the track. I reached out to my interactive genius friend Ilda from I Love Doing All Things Crafty.  She is like my superhero of interactive cards to figure out what I was doing wrong.  I even Periscoped with my favorite peeps to try to get this card done.  FINALLY I had to walk away and when I came back with a clear head I could finish it off and I LOVE it.

I used the bear from the Ski-sons Greetings from MFT and colored him with Copic markers.  To create the downhill slop for him to ride down I used the Surf and Turf die-namics.  For my background I used some distress inks in the colors of chipped sapphire, broken china and wilted violet.  I used the stitched hillside border dies from Lawn Fawn to make my snow drifts.  The sentiment, snowflakes and trees are from various Lawn Fawn stamp sets. I stamped the "I move" sentiment on the bear so the recipient knows that the bear moves.  That sentiment is from the Heffy Doodle Interactively Yours stamp set.  I sprinkled the card with a few pink, purple and blue gems.

UPDATE:  This card was "spotted" on the My Favorite Things blog!!  Woot woot!!  Thanks so much MFT for your sweet showcase!

The Daily Marker 8th 30 Day Color Challenge and Simon Says Stamp School or Study Challenge

Happy Friday everyone.  Whew the title of this post is a mouth full.  I'm super excited to be kicking off September with Kathy of The Daily Marker and her eighth 30-Day color challenge.  I LOVE doing these color challenge as it really makes me fall back in love all over again with coloring.  To see more details you can head on over to Kathy's blog.

Today I'm also making a card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday (School or Study related) card challenge.  As I watch the little kiddos walk to school each morning I'm inspired to know that they will be learning something new today that they can come back home and share with their parents.  I'm all about education and learning. :-)  For my card this morning, I used some older products.  I used a stamp from Verve to make my paper, the scrambled letters stencil from Simon Says Stamp to make my embossed background and I colored one of the images from the Smarty Pants stamp set from Kraftin Kimmie.  I hand wrote the wording on the sheets of paper.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Shaker Card

Hey peeps.  Hope you're having an awesome day.  I'm playing along in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge. I'm finally getting back in the swing of things since being away in New York.  I'm seemed to have left my mojo there so this challenge is helping me create some new inspiration.

I decided to use the September card kit called Best Birthday from Simon Says Stamp and make a shaker card.  I haven't made one in a while and this one was super easy to pull together since the kit was full of great products.

I absolutely love this card kit this month.  Super duper cute with all the fun elements especially that awesome Doodlebug paper. 

The card kit was still available when I posted this card.  Hopefully you will be able to get your hands on it.  I think you will enjoy it as much as I do.  Have a great day everyone.

Lawn Fawn - Lawn Fawnatics Birthday Card

Hey peeps.  Happy Monday.  I'm joining in on the fun over at Lawn Fawnatics first challenge.  So let's start this week of with a birthday celebration card. Since March is Lawn Fawn's birthday month and mine of course we have to celebrate right?!


For my birthday card I used the Lawn Fawn Baked With Love stamp set.  I colored up a bunch of images to use on several cards.  The first card I posted last week. I was in the mood for cupcakes but didn't want the calories on my hips.  LOL  So I used the remaining images for this card.  Once I get in the coloring, I'm on a roll. 

I used my Copic markers to color up these sweet images and of course my favorite Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid paper.  Decided to pull out my Peek-A-Boo Window die from My Favorite Things to make a little window for my mixer to sit behind.  Adding just a few hearts in the background filled in the area nicely.  I keep this card on my desk for a few days pondering if I needed to add anything else to my card.  In the end I pulled out some of my DIY enamel dots to finish off my card.

All this sweetness and not a lick of calories.  Say what?!?  That's a win-win baby!

Altenew July Inspiration Challenge

Hey peeps.  I'm back with another card.  I'm playing along in the Altenew July Inspiration Challenge.  I love the design of this months inspiration.  It's so bright and cheery!

I used the Beautiful Day stamp set from Altenew.  I LOVE this stamp.  I embossed the image in gold embossing powder and water colored it using Dr Ph Martin Hybrid watercolor paint.   I die cut out the flowers and leaves and added them to a card panel that as sponged with Squeezed Lemonade distress ink spritzed with some water.

The last thing I did was stamp the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink and added some colorful sequins. Here is the inspiration pic so you can see where the color combo came from.

MFT Sketch Challenge 287

Hey peeps.  I hope everyone had a safe and great holiday weekend.  I'm squeezing in another card for the MFT sketch challenge.  I've been doing a LOT of squeezing in of things lately.  Challenges, my bathing suit, etc.  LOL  I know probably too much info on the bathing suit.  Here's my challenge card and the sketch layout.

I used one of the pigs from the Hog Heaven stamp set from MFT.  The rainbow is from Avery Elle Be A Unicorn stamp set.  The paper is from SugarPea Designs Whatever The Weather paper pad. I'm also going to enter my card into the Stamps & Fun = Creativity challenge.  That's my card for today.  I'll see you guys back here soon!
