Last Christmas Card Tutorial for 2017

Hey peeps.  Well this is it!!  My last Christmas card tutorial for 2017.  I really don't know where this year has disappeared to.  It seems like I blinked and it was gone.  I'm blessed to say that I made it through so far. (wink wink).  Only a week and some change and this year is over.

For my last tutorial I thought I would end with a shaker card.  I really challenged myself to make some last minute interactive cards so I can swing in the new year keeping up that trend.  The more I do them the less I'm afraid of them.  LOL  I used the adorable Santa's Wonderland from Neat & Tangled and the Stitched Collage Frame from My Favorite Things to make this shaker card.  I've listed all the products I used below.  You can easily make any kind of shaker card with this die cut.  This one will be used a ton as I'm already in love with it.

Here's a quick tutorial on how this shaker came together.  You can watch it right here on my blog or over on my YT channel mzdanajoy.  I have links below using affiliate links however there is no additional cost to you.

Have a great Monday everyone.  As I stated I will not be posting anymore tutorial until the beginning of the year but I will have some Christmas and winter inspiration here on the blog.  Hugs to you all!

MFT Cool Day and Merry Christmas Circle Die

Hey peeps.  Happy Wednesday.  We are getting closer and closer to Christmas.  I'm still shaking things up in my room with some last minute cards.  Here is one I made for a sweet little girl who wanted an interactive card this year.

I stamped out the cute polar bear from the MFT Cool Days stamp set and colored him up with Copic markers and paired him with a sweet little birdie and sign.  Next I die cut out some snow drifts and the Merry Christmas circle die to begin the assembly of my shaker.  I used some older paper from my scrap bin and some lovely sequins from my ever growing sequin collection. I made sure to stamp shake me on the sign so she knew to shake the card so the sequins could move.

I'm trying to challenge myself to make a least one interactive card a month.  This way when I do make them I won't feel so overwhelmed and scared.  I outdid myself already this month and made a spinner/slider card last week.  You can find it here.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.  I'll see you back here soon.

2017 Holiday Card Series - Day 3 Snowflakes Worth Shaking

Hey everyone.  It's day 3 of the 2017 Holiday Card Series.  I hope you have been enjoying the cards so far.  To start at day you click here.  I thought it was time to shake things up a bit with some pretty snowflakes, sequins and tulle.

For the card today I used a very soft color palette for my snowflake shaker card. This shaker card was made using a beautiful die from Memory Box called Snowflake Lens.  I'm a sucker for a great snowflake die of any kind.  This one is even better when I can turn it into a shaker card.

Using tulle instead of acetate really made my shaker card feel soft and light.  I've really love using the tulle now on my shaker.  Here's another video where I used it to make another shaker card.

You can watch the tutorial here on my blog or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I've listed all the products below for your shopping convenience.  I used affiliate links however there is no cost to you.

Okay everyone.  That's a wrap for today.  Make sure to stop by here tomorrow as I have a special post with a giveaway.  See ya soon!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Shaker Card

Hey peeps.  Hope you're having an awesome day.  I'm playing along in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge. I'm finally getting back in the swing of things since being away in New York.  I'm seemed to have left my mojo there so this challenge is helping me create some new inspiration.

I decided to use the September card kit called Best Birthday from Simon Says Stamp and make a shaker card.  I haven't made one in a while and this one was super easy to pull together since the kit was full of great products.

I absolutely love this card kit this month.  Super duper cute with all the fun elements especially that awesome Doodlebug paper.

The card kit was still available when I posted this card.  Hopefully you will be able to get your hands on it.  I think you will enjoy it as much as I do.  Have a great day everyone.

For The Love of Unicorns

Hey hey peeps.  Happy hump day.  Oh how I love adorable unicorns. They are just magical to me.  I want to be one in my next life. LOL  So I paired an adorable unicorn from Avery Elle with some super cool background paper I made last week.  If you want to see my video on how to marble paper you can check it out HERE.  Shall we take a peek at my card?

Now you know I love me a good shaker card.  This unicorn needed to be on a shaker in my head. LOL  I love the colors of this background paper I just had to color the unicorn in purple and teal.  I had some sequin on hand that worked perfectly.  If you have seen any of my scopes you know I'm a HUGE sequin chick.  If it sparkles, I need it.

Okay that wraps up the card for today.  I'm entering my card into the Inky Chicks and Retarte 76 challenges.  I'll see you guys back here real soon.  Working on my new stamp sets and ink line through Brutus Monroe.  I can't wait to show you the Joy collection.

Go forth and be crafty

A Single Rose Shaker Card

Hey peeps.  I hope everyone is having a blessed Sunday.  I'm back with a shaker card today.  I love shaker cards and I haven't made one in a while so I pulled out my supplies and came up with this one.  I used the Single Rose die from Paper Smooches along with a cute sentiment from the Birthday Sampler stamp set.    I keep any plastic that may come from something I purchased to make my cards.  It's "free" acetate for my card making.  LOL

This rose matched perfectly with the My Mind's Eye Cambridge Court paper pack. I wish this paper was still available.  I love the colors of this paper pack. I colored my acetate with a pink and green sharpie to give it a little tint.

I'm throwing my name into the hat for the Paper Smooches October design team call.  Hey you never know right?  I mean who wouldn't love to have the chance to play with more Paper Smooches products?   I'm also sending this card over to the SSS Wednesday challenge.  I'll see you guys back here soon.

Go forth and be crafty~

Let's Get Sketchy + A VIDEO

Hey peeps.  Happy Wednesday.  Today's card is a special one.  I'm a HUGE thing of glitter, sparkles, sequins and gems.  You might now see them all the time on my cards but I love anything that sparkles. :-)  So when Papertrey Ink came out with  a card kit that had tons of sparkle I had to have it.

I'm made a video for you to take a peek into what I received in this kit from Papertrey Ink. I'm not sure if this is still available but if you can get your hands on this set, you are going to love it.

But if you can't get your hands on this kit, you can use products you have on hand to make a great shaker card.  This layout for my card today is from the new weekly sketch over at Splitcoaststampers.  Come join in on the fun.  Okay, let's take a look at the video. :-)

Hope you enjoyed my video today.  Don't forget to like subscribe to my YouTube channel so you won't miss out on anything.  Have a fantastic day everyone!

Hugs and love~

Let me stop running my mouth and show you the video.  I hope you enjoy it and it gives you some inspiration to make your own shaker card.  Happy hump day everyone.
