Ink On 3 October Release

Hey peeps.  Ink On 3 is full of holiday and spiritual inspiration with this latest release.  I played with two of the new stamp sets called Poinsettia and Merry and Bright for my card today.

I decided to make a background with this stamp set.  I stamped all the images in juicy ink and then heat embossed them with the gold rush embossing powder.  I simply colored the images with white and red color pencils. I filled in the remaining area with the pine needles in red ink.

Here's a close up of the coloring.  Coloring on white over the red cardstock makes the white not so stark.  I love doing this technique on color cardstock.  On some of the white poinsettias I added a red layer of color pencil over the white and deepened the shadows with a darker red.

Next I stamped out one of the sentiments from the Merry and Bright stamp set on olive cardstock and heat embossed it in gold rush.  I decided to layer this sentiment square onto a piece of white cardstock I entirely heat embossed in the gold rush embossing powder.  I wrapped a strip of vellum around the colored panel and adhered the sentiment to it with foam tape.  Finally the colored panel was adhered to a white card base.

Make sure to head on over to the Ink On 3 blog today as there is a blog hop and special discounts.  I'll see you guys back here soon.

New Fadeout Ink Tutorial

Hey peeps.  I'm back today sharing some amazing new ink from InkOn3.  The new fadeout ink will change your no line coloring to the next level.  In one word it's magical.  I've had a chance to play with it for over a week now and every time I use it I'm more and more is awe of what it can do.

Check out how beautifully I colored this hummingbird.  What's so cool about this ink is it fades into the color of the medium you are using.  It doesn't disappear or leave a line that is not the color you are using.  It's just amazing.

Here's a quick tutorial.  You can watch it here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I've used affiliate links for your convenience at no cost to you.

Have a great day everyone. See you back here soon.

Classic White and Gold Christmas Cards

Hey everyone.  I'm in my craft room loving making some simple cards for my friends.  Nothing is prettier to me than a classic white and gold Christmas card. The simplicity of the two colors really makes the design you use stand out.  I love adding just a touch of red and/or green to a classic Christmas card. Just don't overdo it.  Keep the majority of the card with a lot of white space and the let gold color be the next big punch of color.

For my card today I used the Fairy Christmas stamp set from Ink On 3 and the Kaleidoscope background stamp from Simon Says Stamp along with some princess gold embossing powder.  Since the bells and holly on this image are small I only have to use a small amount of color using my zig clean color real brush markers.  To add some detail to the card I used stitched dies to add faux stitching to the circle and the layering panel on my card. I popped up my sentiment with a circle of fun foam just to add some dimension to my card. Now of course I wanted to add just a few sequins to these cards.  I just had too.  LOL

Look how pretty that sentiment is.  I love the little jingle bells on each of the letters.  Stamping the background on half of the background allows the sentiment to standout and now be overwhelmed by the background design.

Have a blessed Sunday everyone.  I'll see you back here tomorrow with another card.

When Halloween Cuteness Becomes A Card

Hey peeps.  Happy Monday.  I'm sharing with you some Halloween happiness.  I'm not a huge Halloween person as I'm not into the whole scary thing however I do love cute Halloween stuff.  And I also enjoy seeing all the little kids dressed up and giving out a TON of candy.  Yes nothing like a sugar high for the little ones.

Today I'm sharing just a few of my Halloween cards I made this year.  I colored some of these up doing the 30 day color challenge last month hosted the by sweet Kathy of The Daily Marker. I also used some distress inks to create a cool background and used fabulous designer paper to finish off my cards. So let's take a stroll through the cards shall we?

This image called Pumpkin Friends is from Inkon3 and is such a sweet Halloween and fall stamp set. I colored my image with Copic makers and paired it with this pretty fall paper from DCWV called Harvest House.

This stamp set is right up my humor alley.  It's called If The Hat Fits and is from Simon Says Stamp.  I used carved pumpkin, spiced marmalade and wild honey distress inks to create the background for my card. The hats were colored with Copic markers. I created a design on each hat with my black multiliner pen and a white marker. To add a pop of color to the card I used a strip of paper from the October 31 paper pad from Doodlebug Designs.

And this adorable Dino trick or treater is from Stamping Bella.  She is paired with Halloween Parade and October 31 paper from Doodlebug Designs.  This image was also colored with Copic markers.

That's my Halloween card showcase for today.  I'll be back with more card cuteness soon.  Have a great Monday everyone.
