Fall Distress Oxide Ink Backgrounds

Hey everyone.  Happy Friday.  I'm so ready for fall here in Florida.  Ready for the cooler weather (well cool for Florida 😂) and adding a cute little sweater to my wardrobe.  Since I can't have fall right now I decided to share with you some of my favorite fall color combinations using distress oxide inks.  Creating fall distress oxide ink backgrounds is super easy and they make wonderful card panels.

Here are two cards that I made using my new makeup brushes (see last Monday's post to check these out) and my go-to fall colors.  For my first card I used fossilized amber, squeezed lemonade, spiced marmalade and ripe persimmon.

For this card I used antique linen, wild honey and peeled paint.  Anytime you create a distress oxide background and you don't know what you want to do with it, just hold onto it.  Inspiration to use it may come later.

Here's a quick tutorial.  You can watch it here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I've used affiliate links for your convenience at no cost to you.

Have a great weekend everyone.  See you back here on Monday.

Spellbinders Miss You Swirl Die Cut

Hey peeps.  I'm back with another tutorial.  I'm making pretty cards with Spellbinders today.  This time I'm playing with a beautiful Marisa Job's design called Miss You Swirl Etching die cut from Spellbinders.  This die cut set is perfect for quick and stylish card making.

For my card today I used three distress oxide inks to create a beautiful color blend.  Next I used the swirl die cut to create my beautiful center piece for my card.  I die cut out the miss you sentiment several times to create a thicker sentiment and lined them up using a t-ruler.

I have a quick tutorial sharing how this card came together.  Just think of the beautiful color combinations you can come up with for this design.

Here's the tutorial.  You can watch it here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I've used affiliate links for your convenience at no cost to you.

Thanks for hanging out with me today.  Have a beautiful weekend.

2017 Holiday Card Series - Day 2 Blending Distress Oxide Inks And Nature

Hey everyone.  I hope you're having an amazing day.  Are you ready for day two of the holiday card series?  If you missed day one, you can check it out here.  So let's see what I have in store for you today.

This year I really needed some masculine cards to add to my holiday stash.  I decided to pull out some cool tone nature shade distress oxide inks and a cool die from Technique Tuesdays and have a little bit of watercoloring fun.  Now this card is really one of my favorite of this year.  I love the way these tress turned out.  I'm really addicted to this gorgeous way of mixing the colors together to achieve such an amazing color blend with the distress oxide inks.  I used the Halftone Holidays stamp from Altenew with some beautiful shades of green ink from Altenew as well.

Look at those lovely shades of blue, green, olive and brown.  If you don't have the distress oxide inks yet, oh you MUST add them to your stash.

You can watch the tutorial here on my blog or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I've listed all the products below for your shopping convenience. I have used affiliate links however there is no cost to you.

Concord & 9th Hope Label Die Tutorial

Happy Friday everyone.  I'm back with a tutorial using the Concord and 9th Hope Label dies.  I can't explain to you how much I LOVE this die.  As soon as I saw it I knew it was going to be an immediate purchase.

I decided to use the sentiment and label on the same card.  I didn't want to cut out a label but just wanted to have the stitching in the card.

This sentiment just inspires me so much especially in the environment we seem to be living in these days.  I just feel it's fitting on so many levels.

Here's a quick tutorial on how the card came together.  You can watch it here or on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I've placed products below for your shopping convenience.  I've used affiliate links however there is no cost to you. :-)

Have a wonderful Friday and I'll see you back here soon!

Double Stenciling With Distress Oxide Inks TUTORIAL

Hey peeps.  Happy hump day!  I'm back sharing a quick tutorial using some of the new distress oxide inks.  Oh be still my heart I love these colors so much. I tried a little bit of a different technique and did some double stenciling today.  Just make sure you use two stencils and one pattern must be smaller than the other.

You can use any two color you like however one must be darker than the other.  Let me show you what I mean in the tutorial. You can also check out other backgrounds I've made for cards HERE.

So grab yourself a cup of your favorite beverage and relax.  You can watch the video here or over at my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  I've linked the products below for easy shopping.
